The Chairman of Egbe Idimu Local Council Development Area, Kunle Sanyaolu Olowoopejo yesterday empowered 200 residents in his local government N50,000 each as palliative through the Department of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation (WAPA).
Olowoopejo while addressing the beneficiaries asserted that this is a continuation of the earlier food distribution that was made to residents last month. At the time, he had pledged to keep assisting on an as-needed basis to lessen the effects of the subsidy reduction.
As a progressive party with the primary goal of reducing poverty, we regularly provide social welfare packages to those in need, including regular monthly cash support to neighbors.
He reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to eradicating poverty among the country’s people, empowering them going forward, and mitigating the effects of the termination of petroleum subsidies.
He then urged the recipients to use the funds wisely and abstain from unnecessary spending.
The event also had in attendance the Vice-Chairman, Leader of the Council, Executive Council Members, and the Management Team.
