Ejigbo LCDA Unites Stakeholders for Peace And Security

In a concert effort to bolster security and community safety, Chairman of Ejigbo LCDA, Hon. Monsieur Oloyede Bello (Obe) convened a crucial peace and security meeting with key stakeholders at the Ejigbo LCDA Council Secretariat.
The session highlights the critical link between economic hardship and security, emphasizing the need for periodic discussions to address the threats of upcoming protest.
The meeting drew a diverse group of participants, includes traditional and religious leaders, security operatives, People with disabilities, LNSC, NSCDC, NURTW workers, OPC, Artisans, and representatives from various community organizations like the NYCN, CCYL, and CDC.
In the Chairman’s opening address, Obe underscores the importance of proactive security measures. He praised the security personnel for their achievements and assured them of unwavering support from the LCDA administration. “Obe appealed to those planning the protest to shelve their plans and have confidence in the present government as there are plans to cushion the economic challenges in the country.
“Economic challenges often escalate security issues, making it imperative for us to engage in regular, constructive dialogues to stay ahead of potential threats. Our collaboration with traditional leaders, security agencies, and community stakeholders is vital to ensure that we create a safe and secure environment for all residents of Ejigbo LCDA. Together, we can overcome these challenges and build a resilient community,” he added.
HRM Oba Moruf Adisa Ojoola, the Ojon of Ejigbo Kingdom, commends Oloyede’s leadership and urged security officers to remain dedicated to their duties. He urged the Youth to dialogue instead of protest, also nobody should block the road and no government property should be touch. The security operatives pledged to continue the co-operation and commitment to maintain peace, urge the public to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activities on or before the protest.
DPO of Ejigbo divisioner Headquarter CSP Vera Ameh said “we are ready to cooperate with anything you see and say, C.O Makanjuola Rasaq of the LNSC said nothing like peaceful protest, don’t be fooled, “Mr. S.A Jinadu of NSCDC said we need to be careful because no one knows the sponsors of this protest so let’s see something and do something”.
Several speakers who spoke at the meeting, dis-associate themselves from the planned protest as they cheered Obe’s achievements and assured him of their readiness to engage members of their communities for peace and security of the local government.
Bamishile Julius assured the Council Chairman that there will not be protest in his area, theres different between protest and riot, we only know the beginning but doesn’t know we are damaging ourselves, Mrs Olorundare a member of the People with Disabilities (PWD) plead to Oloyede to dialogue with the Youth not to transfer aggression.
