Education: Eti-Osa East Council Boss Urges Students To Shape Their Lives Positively

The 2025 edition of the Eti-Osa East Local Council Development Area (LCDA) Spelling Bee Competition unfolded in a blaze of intellect and excitement on Tuesday, October 14, bringing together brilliant young spellers from schools across the council.
In his inspiring opening remarks, the Chairman, Biliaminu Samson Agunbiade, praised the pupils for their enthusiasm, confidence, and sharp intellect. He urged them to remain focused, disciplined, and visionary, describing education as “the foundation upon which great destinies are built.”
“You are the architects of your own future,” Agunbiade told the students.
“Your hard work and determination today will shape not just your lives, but the future of our community and our nation.”
After several rounds of intense spelling battles, the competition produced the following winners:
Primary School Category:
Raphael Ntoliba – Olomu Primary School
Okwuchukwu Joy – Okun Ajah Nursery & Primary School
Goodnews, Fidelis Paul – Olomu Primary School
Secondary School Category:
Adeyemi Hannah – Badore Modern College
Noah Praise – Okun Ajah Secondary High School
Esin Muana – Okun Ajah Secondary High School
The event, held in grand style, attracted dignitaries from within and beyond the council, including Vice Chairman Hon. Sherif Olubushe Azeez, Council Manager Mr. S. S. Shipe, Leader of the Legislative Arm Hon. Akindele Jamiu, and Education Secretary of Eti-Osa Local Government Mr. Akintola Muse Adetola, among others.
Winners received medals, school bags, first aid boxes, and other educational materials tokens that symbolised the council’s continued investment in youth development and academic excellence.
Agunbiade reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to quality education, noting that “the true strength of any community lies in the knowledge and creativity of its young people.”
With this year’s edition, the Eti-Osa East LCDA once again demonstrated its resolve to nurture young minds, promote literacy, and inspire the next generation of leaders one word at a time.
