Echonews Partners COWLSO at National Women’s Conference

Echonews Newspapers, a leading community news platform in Lagos, has once again confirmed its participation in this year’s National Women’s Conference.

The conference, organised annually by the Committee of Wives of Lagos State Officials (COWLSO), marks its 25th anniversary this year.

Echonews has been an active partner of the event since 2004, using its platforms to amplify the activities and impact of the organisation at the grassroots.

Recalling nearly two decades of partnership, the Publisher of Echonews, Hon. Kehinde Bamigbetan, said the special COWLSO Conference Edition of the newspaper has consistently highlighted the group’s initiatives and achievements.

“This is one of the ways to link COWLSO and its works to the grassroots and align with the vision of the group,” Bamigbetan stated.

Bamigbetan, whose late wife was a member of COWLSO, commended the successive leadership of the committee for sustaining the vision of its founding First Lady, Funmilayo Mobolaji-Johnson.

During the 2025 COWLSO programme, Echonews will actively participate in discussions and networking sessions with prominent women, government officials, and community leaders. The platform aims to spotlight new initiatives and address challenges in community service and women’s empowerment.

“We’re thrilled to be part of this year’s COWLSO program,” said the Editor-in-Chief of Echonews. “This event provides a unique platform for engagement with influential women and leaders. We’re committed to sharing their inspiring stories and amplifying their impact at the grassroots,” the publisher said

Echonews remains committed to promoting good governance, social development, and inclusive growth. Supporting initiatives like COWLSO reflects its mission to empower communities and elevate women’s leadership in nation-building.

COWLSO was revived in 1999 by Senator Oluremi Tinubu, then First Lady of Lagos State, who introduced the National Women’s Conference, a model that has since been replicated in several states across Nigeria.

Since 2004, Echonews Newspapers has produced several special editions dedicated to promoting COWLSO’s programmes, projects, and impact on women’s development in Lagos State and beyond.

Again the platform will be sharing hundreds of magazines at this year’s National Women’s Conference slated at Eko Hotel and suites from October 28th to 30th.
