At the Sapphire Nigeria Women Football Supporters Club (SNWFSC) seminar on ‘Embrace Football, Shun Drug’, renowned women’s football advocate, Moses Bako told the young footballers that drug abuse will endanger their career and life and they should abstain from it.
Bako who’s also known as the encyclopedia of Nigeria women’s football advised the players about the negative impact of drug abuse as he told them that it would have a negative effect on their health.
He used the opportunity to tell the coaches to be wary of the actions of their players and should always monitor them very well.
“You are young and have a long way to go, you shouldn’t engage in drugs or abuse it because it will have a negative impact in your career,” he told echonews.ng.
“Don’t allow people to advise you negatively on using substances that are against the football profession and FIFA rules in aiding your career, its effect on the long run would have a negative effect on your health also.
“Coaches should also monitor their players lifestyle and should always direct them to the right path because they are right under their care in camp.
“I have seen players that drug abuse have negatively affected and destroyed their career, most of this players can’t play at the highest level again.
“So the best thing to do at this young age is to abstain from drug abuse and focus more on trainings for personal development and upliftment.”
