Don’t violate traffic rules, Ejigbo CDC warns motorcyclists

The Community Development Committee (CDC), Ejigbo has warned motorists and motorcyclists in Ejigbo LCDA to adhere to the government directives on traffic.

The CDC chairman, Prince Jelili Atiku gave this warning after the CDC meeting with the Divisional Police Officer, Ejigbo, CSP Olabisi Okuwobi where it was discovered that many motorcycles have been impounded by the police as a result of noncompliance of the motorcyclists with traffic laws.

He added that the DPO had informed that the violation of traffic rules has been on the increase, and in turn there is going to be aggressive move to impound more motorcycles from offenders which will not be released but crushed.

He said: “We have been on constant discussions with the DPO and we are joining the enlightenment train to educate the residents as well as visitors, especially motorcyclists in our community to desist from violating the extant traffic rules in the state. The Laws guiding road traffic which include both vehicle and motorcycle users must be adhere to.

“The Police authorities have informed us of the increase in the violation and the readiness of the Police to commence aggressive clampdown with immediate effect.

“It is on this note that the leadership of the CDC wants each of our CDAs to warn riders in their areas about the directive from the Police authorities.”
