The attention of Echonews has been drawn to a fraudulent activity involving the name of our publisher, Hon. Kehinde Kolade Bamigbetan, Special Adviser to the Minister of Solid Minerals Development.
It has come to our notice that unknown persons are falsely using his identity to invite members of the public to a fake and dubious online meeting allegedly scheduled to hold via WhatsApp.

The impostor identified himself as Anthony Bukola Taiwo, (Atayese 2 of Okota).

Appropriate steps are currently being taken to address this cyber incident and to bring the perpetrators to justice.
Hon. Bamigbetan remains steadfast, transparent, and committed to the safety and wellbeing of his constituents and associates, and will never engage in or promote any activity that compromises public trust or security.
The public is urged to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious communication claiming to be from Hon. Bamigbetan to the appropriate authorities.
