Democracy Day: Oloyede Commends Nigerians

As Nigerians, both home and abroad, celebrate the 25 years of unbroken democracy, the chairman of Oshodi-Isolo local government, Otunba Kehinde Almaroof Oloyede has commended the resilience of Nigerians in upholding the tenets of democracy in spite of its challenges.

 

Otunba Oloyede while saluting the sagacity of Nigerians urged them to have an unwavering faith in the bright future of our mother land.

 

Oloyede while felicitating with Nigerians, particularly the residents of his local government, disclosed that our democratic journey is one filled with sweet and bitter memories.

 

He remembered with nostalgic the efforts of past heroes and heroines who fought hard for the democracy we are enjoying today with some paying the ultimate price.

 

He, however, assured that Nigeria is on better trajectory to greatness with 25 years of unbroken democracy, signalling our determination, resolve and dedication to democratic tenets.

 

He appreciates Nigerians for the unwavering support and commitment shown thus far while urging for total trust in the government and unflinching faith in the country.

 

He said; “I am happy to join Nigerians, both home and abroad in the celebration of this year’s democracy day. Our democracy is no longer nascent being 25 years today.

 

I totally agree with the words of Joyce Meyer that “we may not be where we want to be but we are not where we used to be.” With these words, I urge everyone to keep faith with the country and the incumbent government, while believing in the greatness of the country.”

 

The council boss also in his democracy day message to the residents assures that his administration will continue to deliver more dividends of democracy as has been his style to ensure that the Oshodi-Isolo local government wears new face and making life easier for the teeming residents.
