The All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries in Lagos State reached a critical milestone today as previously unaccredited and absent delegates from the six councils within Alimosho Federal Constituency have now arrived and are actively participating in the voting process at the party’s ACME headquarters in Lagos.

This development means that the primary election process is now underway in all 55 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) across the state, with the exception of Yaba LCDA and Lagos Mainland Local Government, which are yet to commence delegate voting.

The sudden appearance of the Alimosho delegates marks a turnaround in what had appeared to be a stalled process in the state’s most populous federal constituency.

While no official explanation has been provided for their earlier absence, insider sources suggest that the delay may have been linked to internal power tussles and disagreements within party ranks.

Party officials at the venue that voting is now ongoing, with security and electoral officers ensuring a smooth and orderly process.

Observers say the participation of Alimosho delegates is likely to influence key outcomes in the APC’s internal selection process, given the political weight the constituency holds in Lagos politics.
