COVID-19: WAPCo donates N15M worth PPE to LASG

The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency, LASEPA, on Monday, took delivery of some Personal Protective Equipment ( PPE ) donated to the State Government by West Africa Gas Pipeline Company, (WAPCo )

The donation of the items which included face masks, surgical gloves, non-contact thermometers, shoe covers, disposable protective gloves, surgical caps, hand sanitizers, protective eye shields amongst others was in support of the state government’s fight against COVID-19 pandemic.

Presenting the PPE on behalf of WAPCo to the General Manager of LASEPA, Dr. Dolapo Fasawe, the Group General Manager Operations of the company, Mr. Saminu Jibrin, disclosed that the cost of the items donated was in excess of N15million.

He said: “As a corporate organisation that is sensitive to our operating environment, we decided to contribute this as a token towards the fight against the virus and also as a Corporate Social Responsibility initiative to residents of this State.

While commending the organisation for its thoughtfulness and kind gesture, Dr. Fasawe urged other corporate organisations and individuals to emulate WAPCo and other companies that have identified with the state government during this crucial period of global fight against the deadly virus.

In the statement signed by the Chief Public Affairs Officer, Bola Ajao, she emphasized that the collective efforts of everyone is needed to control the spread of COVID-19 and flatten the curve of the pandemic through meaningful collaborations and assistance.
