The executive members of Samuel/Olowoporoku Community Development Association (CDA) said despite the effects of Covid-29 pandemic, the association was able to record some notable achievement in its one year of existence.
The CDA Chairman, Chief Muideen Bankole, said in the last one year, the association, under his chairmanship, has resolved many crazy bill issues in the community, changed damaged electricity polls, strengthened security and executed other projects.
He said the association celebrated its first anniversary recently to showcase its achievements and also serve as a form of check and balance on the governing committees as well as to seek more supports from the government and the community.
“My administration is a combination of diligent and committed youths who helped to achieve worthy development to reckon with.
“I acknowledge that the celebration would not have taken place without the great efforts of my hardworking executive members who worked hard to make sure we execute all our projects.
“We had all during hard times cooperated without complaining because the spirit of leadership was portrayed in all especially when an individual is left to get a work done.
“It was not an easy task during that EndSARS period because we personally engaged in community policing within our environment in order to hinder the hoodlums from bringing stolen goods into the community.
“We even organised educational tutorials during lockdown for students and distributed palliatives given by the government and voluntary organisations to the less privileged, widows and those in need.”
Bankole appreciated the landlords and tenants of Olowoporoku Street for assisting in actualising the installation of solar lights on the street.
Speaking about the CDA, the Chairman of Oshodi-Isolo Community Development Committee (CDC), Alhaji Olawoyin commended the efforts of the CDA, saying the CDC has taken note of its achievements.
“Well, the achievements of the CDA are remarkable ones, even its sister CDA, Sam Kay listed its own achievements which we have taken note of and confirmed to be real. I will advise them all to continue with this good trend because they will surely reap the benefit one day which would be very favourable to their community.”
Equally speaking, Hon. Saheed Animashaun said the CDA is one of the most reported CDAs for its self community development activities from time to time.
