Covid-19: Oriade charges residents on precautions, donates face masks
By Edith Igbokwe
The former youth leader of All Progressives Congress (APC), Afariogun Ward, Mr. Olawale Oriade, has implored the residents to continue complying with the precautionary measures set by the government to fight against the virus.
He said this while donating face masks to the CDAs in the community to support the government’s efforts to curtail community spread of Covid-19.
He warned that the virus might not be conquered if people continue to flout the government directives, noting that the virus is still much in the society as against the notion by some people that the virus is no more.
Oriade lauded the State and Local Governments for the efforts made towards curtailing the spread of the virus, imploring the residents to keep wearing their face masks and comply with other regulations against the spread of the virus.
He emphasised that the donation of face masks was to support the policy of the State Government in the fight against the virus as part of measures to curb the communal spread of the virus amongst the people.
Taking the delivery of the items, the APC Ward chairman, Mr. Ganikale Hameed, appreciated the Oriade for his ceaseless support to the party and the community at large.
He described the donor as a community builder, whose passion for the growth and development of Afariogun is unrivaled.
Also commending the donor, the Financial Secretary of the party, Alhaja Jemilat and the Ex-Officio, Mr. Ayodele Omotayo, described the donor as a man who places a premium on the well-being of the people regardless of their religion and tribe.
The chairman of Isokan CDA, who took delivery of the face masks on behalf of other CDAs, Mr. Fawole thanked the donor for his continued support in the fight against the virus through the kind gesture exhibited to the community at large through the CDA’s, charging him not to relent in his service to humanity.
