COVID-19: 300 beneficiaries get Sanwo-Olu’s food in Isolo, commend governor’s effort

No fewer than 300 beneficiaries mainly youths got food packages provided by the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu as relief stimulus to cushion the effect of a month-long stay-at-home order.

After the initial two weeks of total lockdown of the state as a measure to curb community spread if the deadly coronavirus, the Federal Government has extended the lockdown by another to weeks.

With the effect of the lockdown on the residents, the governor has provided free meals in the 20 LGAs and 37 LCDAs across the state.

While receiving its first batch on Monday, Isolo LCDA commenced the distribution at Alagbeji Ward where 300 youths benefited from the foods.

The programmes, which was contracted out by the state government to Opeloyeru Canteen and coordinated by a three-man committee made up of the Secretary to the Local Government (SLG), Hon. Kolawole Olojede; Leader of the Legislative Arm, Hon. Remmy Shittu Remmy and CDC Treasurer, Hon. Saheed Olanrewaju., is expected to go round all other six Wards subsequently.

While receiving the food relief stimulus, the over joyous beneficiaries commended the state governor for the efforts put together to reach out to the people at the grassroots at this trying time.
