The Ikeja Magistrates’ Court has sentenced one Jiba Isaac to jail for theft of items worth N7,000,000.

Isaac, 20, resident at Agege, Lagos, was confined to nine months in prison at Kirikiri Correctional Centre without an option of fine.

The prosecutor, Inspector Segun Oke, told the court that Isaac who pleaded guilty to the charge of stealing stole two rolls of cable wire and drilling machine.

Oke disclosed that the offender commited the offence on April 17, at ITB Nigeria Limited, Jagal Close, Ikosi Ketu, Lagos.

While trying to make way out of the premises, Isaac was caught by security guards and handed over to the police who arraigned him at the court for prosecution.

Oke pleased with the court’s rulling, said that it would serve as a deterrent to others.

The offence, according to the prosecutor, contravened section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
