Court To Sentence Man For Stealing School Items In Badagry

The Magistrates’ Court in Badagry, Lagos has billed April 24 for verdict over a man, Adeniyi Bashiru, who has contravened the state’s Criminal Law for stealing properties in a school.
Bashiru pleaded guilty to one-count charge of theft imposed on him by the police on account of stealing the school items worth N1,100,000.
At an initial arraignment at the court, the Police Prosecutor, Inspector Edet Ekpo, submitted that the offender, on March 27, at about 12:am to steal 20 pieces of aluminum sheets valued at N300,000, seven ceiling fans worth N380,000 and a computer central processing unit of N420,000 value, all items belonging to one Margaret Adasa, the complainant.
The Presiding Magistrate, Nurudeen Layeni, ordered that the remand of the lawbreaker at the Awhajigoh Correctional Centre in Badagry.
Layeni adjourned the case till April 24 for review of the facts of the case and sentencing.
