Court Sentences Teacher To Jail For Raping 3 Year Old Girl

A teacher identified as Chukwunonso Okafor has been convicted for raping a three -year-old girl in Ikotun area of Lagos State.

In an injunction at the Ikeja Offences and Violence Court on Wednesday, the Presiding Judge, Abiola Soladoye found Chukwunonso culpable on three counts charge bordering on sexual assault imposed on him by the Police.

Soladoye said that the prosecution has provided cogent evidences proving that the culprit commited the act, violating the Chiid’s Right Law.

The judge added that Chukwunonso, 25, commited the offence at Abaronje area in Ikotun in July and December, 2022, and contravened the Provisions in Section 261 of the Lagos State Criminal Law, Chapter 17, Volume 3, Laws of Lagos State, 2015.

Soladoye, in her ruling said, “You descended so low by having oral sex with the victim. You action barbaric. From your guilty plea, it shows you have been molesting the victim for a long time.

“On count one to two, you are sentenced to life imprisonment and 7 years on count three under Section 137 of the Lagos State Law.

“All sentences shall run concurrently.”
