Court Sentences 13 Lagos Residents To Jail For Open Defecation

The Lagos State Mobile Court in Bolade, Oshodi, has convicted 13 residents over offences of environmental violation through open defecation and urination.
At the court on Monday disclosed that the offenders pleaded guilty to the charges of environmental degradation and were sentenced to three months imprisoned each.
The lawbreakers: Friday Samuel, 49, Sulaimon Olalekan, 54, Idris Jimoh, 45, Alao Babatunde, 54, Chinonso Dominic, 21, Akeem Suraju, 42, Lawal Idris, 29, Oluwatobi Adebayo, 30, Ismaila Adeyemi, 35, Murtala Jamilu, 20, Samson Memudia, 54, Jamilu Abdullahi, 29yrs, Ganiyu Akeem, 55, commited the offences at Agege and Alimosho areas of the state.
The government under the administration of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has reiterated that arrests and prosecution will continue on violators of the state’s environmental laws as part of efforts to ensure decrum in the metropolis.
