Court Remands Two Men Over Alleged Attempted Murder, Cultism

The Magistrates’ Court in Ikeja, Lagos, has remanded two male suspects: Olaitan Fasasi and Kehinde Tobilola, in correctional facility over allegations of attempted murder and cult related activities.

While arraigning the defendants at the court yesterday, the Police stated that the offences allegely commited is a violation of the provisions of the Lagos State laws, urging the court to pronounce judgement on them accordingly.

The prosecutor, Josephine Ikhayere, said that Fasasi who is 40 years old alongside his accomplice, 26-year-old Tobilola, are facing a three count charge bordering on attempted murder and membership of a secret society.

Ikhayere said that the duo alongside others not yet arrested, committed the offence on February 15, 2025, at about 5pm in Mushin area of the state.

She added that they armed themselves with a locally made gun and attempted to kill one Alfred Ademola by shooting at him.

The Prosecutor told the sitting that the offences contravened Sections 230(1) and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State.

Ikhayere also stated that the offences aksk violate Section 2(3)a(b)(c)(d) if Unlawful Societies and Cultism Law of Lagos State.

The Magistrate, Lateef Owolabi, directed the police to forward the vase file to the Directory of Public Prosecution(DPP).

He adjouned the case till May 21.
