Court Prosecutes Man For Defiling Teenager

The Magistrates’ Court in Ikeja has held a suspect for prosecution over accusation of sexual assault on a 17-year-old neighbour, causing her defilement.

Emeka Onouha, the 46-year-old accused, was remanded by Magistate Ejiro Kubeinje who adjourned the case till August 13.

Prosecutor, Inspector John Iberedem, stated during a court sitting that the defendant, a resident at Church Street, Jakande Estate, Oke-Afa, Ejigbo Lagos, lured the victim into his room and commited the offence, thus, violating Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

According to Iberedem, neighbours at the defendant’s residence reported the act to the police who got the him arrested.

Magistrate Kubeinje did not take Onuoha’s plea, rather, she instructed the police to duplicate the case file and forward it to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for further advice.
