The Special Offences and Domestic Violence Court in Ikeja has convicted one Ndedigwe Paul, to jail for sexually assaulting minors of ages six and seven.
Echonews garnered that Paul engaged in the indecent act by inserting his finger in the victims’ private parts, and having carnal knowledge of the of them individually.
Following a comprehensive trial that sought justice for the underage victims, the felon was sentenced by Justice Abiola Soladoye after thorough investigation of the evidence provided at the court on Tuesday.
The offender, having been found guilty of two out of the three-count charges bordering on defilement and unlawful sexual intercourse against him contravened section 137 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, according to the Prosecutor, Olafunke Adegoke.
Adegoke disclosed that the malefactor who initially pleaded not guilty during his first arraignment on February 14, 2023 lured the victims who were in kindergarten class at the time of the offence into his room and had unlawful sexual intercourse with them.
Adegoke presented a compelling case, and the victims were asked to testify. Each of the victims described the gory incident and identified Paul as the man who commited the act.
The judge described him as a rough, crude, greedy, paedophile and a destiny destroyer for corrupting the morals of the young girls noting that such an act must be punished so as to act as a deterrent to other paedophile.
He ordered an immediate conviction of the offender to the Ikoyi correctional centre to serve his sentence concurrently.
