The councillor reprepresenting Ilamoshe Ward in Ejigbo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Lanre Akinbowale, has given packs of food items containing Semo, wheat, Spaghetti and bread as palliatives to 30 private school teachers in his ward to cushion the effect of the lockdown on them as many of them have not received salary since March this year.
The councillor, who doubles as the council leader, said giving such support became necessary especially at the time the teachers struggle to survive.
He explained that teachers are developers, who groom children to become leaders, saying such set of people in the society should not be neglected as he promised to continue giving the support.
Commending the gesture, the Secretary of Coalition of Ilamoshe CDAs, Mr. Dele Olokobi, said the councillor has done what was needed at the time it was really needed.
He noted that the councillor has made his presence felt in the community, adding that he has been doing so much for the residents in terms of empowerment, organising football completion, giving palliatives and many more as a way of giving back to the community.
Olokobi then urged the residents to appreciate the councillor and the All Progressives Congress (APC) party by supporting them to continue in office, urging them to get their voters card and LASRA cards to be able to vote during the next year election.
One of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Module Otunuyin, appreciated the councillor for the gesture and prayed for God’s grace to do more.
