Engr. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, the Council Chairman of Ibeju Lekki Local Government, spearheaded a high-stakes meeting with key stakeholders.
The session brought together Craneburg Construction Company and heads of security agencies, including the Nigerian Police, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), LASTMA, LNSC, the DSS, and the Ibeju-Lekki Community Corps (Folumo).
The strategic meeting aimed at tackling the rampant gridlock plaguing the Ibeju Lekki corridor, a notorious hotspot for traffic chaos. The focus was on addressing reckless driving practices and urging bus drivers to adhere to law and order.
Reliably, this indicates that stringent sanctions will be imposed on erring commuters contributing to the persistent gridlock. The move is a firm commitment to prioritizing the ease of movement for law-abiding citizens while holding accountable those who disrupt the flow of traffic.
Significantly, the decision to sanction lawbreakers underscores the commitment of the Abdullahi Olowa-led administration to ensure seamless traffic flow not only within Ibeju Lekki but also in neighbouring areas. The administration has consistently demonstrated proactive measures, creating platforms to alleviate the traffic menace.
As the local government takes a bold stand against gridlock, residents and commuters can look forward to a more orderly and efficient transportation system, fostering a safer and more enjoyable environment for all. The wheels of change are in motion, signalling a new era of traffic discipline and improved civic responsibility.
