Road users around Iyana-Isolo area have called the attention of the state and local governments to the deteriorating portion of the road, urging them to urgently repair it before it gets out of hand.
The damaged part of the road which was initially a small pothole after NIPOST Office beside the tail end of the bridge that connects Mushin with Isolo has turned to a wider and deeper one since it was neglected for over two years.
A tricyclist who simply identified himself as Saheed explained that the dilapidated road has been a major concern for the commercial drivers plying Iyana-Isolo to Aiye/Isolo/Gate as they risk accident while passing through the portion of the road.
He added that the dilapidated road caused significant mechanical damages to their tricycles on several occasions.
He said: “We humbly appeal to the government to help us repair this road before it gets worse than this. We spend so much repairing our tricycles or the other on weekly basis. When rain falls, this place becomes almost impassable. We hope something can be done as a matter of urgency. During busy hours, this portion causes heavy traffic congestion as well.”
“We want the governments to visit this place and see what we pass through. This place is capable of causing fatal accidents. Let them come and do palliative, at least, to ameliorate our horrible experience on this road,” said another road user, Seun Lawal.
