For rehabilitating it’s abandoned roads, residents of Isolo are giving kudos to the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-olu.
The residents commended the government when the personnel from Lagos State Public Works Corporation (LSPWC) arrived the council area recently to carry out maintenance on some of the roads.
The road maintenance works were carried out in Alagbeji Ward – on Shonibare Street and Osolo Way in response to the demands of the residents for fixing damaged roads.
While commending the government on the development, a community leader, Hon. Abiodun Adegboyega, explained that the intervention would ease vehicular movement in the community and decongest other major roads.
He urged the government to extend the gesture to  to other roads in the community.
“The maintenance on Shonibare Street is very important but, it will be better if it is done in full. IT is a link road. When there is traffic hold-up on the Osolo way, road users take Shonibare to connect with Mushin. That confirms the importance of the road. We will be glad if such maintenance can be carried out in full and extended to Shodehinde Street to Lamina Lawal then Kogberegbe because these roads are strategic routes for road users in order to beat traffic holdup on the major road.”
Also Speaking, the Public Relations Officer of the Community Development Committee, Alhaji Yemi Shogunle, said the maintenance will improve the condition of the roads and make them serve the community for long time.
Shonibare and Osolo Way are just two of the many roads that have been fixed by LSPWC in the last few months in Isolo LCDA others include, Ire-Akari Road and Okota Road.
In addition to these, drainages along these roads have also been desilted in the community.
