Residents of Coker Estate, under the aegis of the Coker Estate Residents Association (CERA), have commended the  Chairman of Alimosho Local Government for ongoing infrastructural development in the area.

The group made this known during a courtesy visit to the council chairman, where they expressed appreciation for recognising the estate as a residential community deserving of government attention and intervention.

Speaking on behalf of the association, its president, Tony Obihai, praised the chairman for his responsiveness and willingness to engage with residents on their concerns. He noted that the installation of streetlights across the estate has significantly improved security and transformed the environment, especially at night.

According to him, the project has not only enhanced visibility but also boosted the overall outlook of the community, making it safer and more attractive for residents.

Obihai also acknowledged the ongoing reconstruction of Alfred Olaiya Street, which he said is about 75 percent completed. He appealed to the council to ensure the timely completion of the remaining work and assured the chairman of the association’s continued support.

In his response, the council chairman reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to providing essential infrastructure and fulfilling promises made to residents. He described the provision of basic amenities as a core responsibility of government and assured that work on Alfred Olaiya Street would be completed soon.

The visit highlights growing collaboration between the local government and community groups in driving development at the grassroots level.
