The chairman of Coker Aguda Local Council Development Area, Hon. Rasaq Olamilekan has promised to execute more projects as he bagged the award of outstanding chairman.
The award was given at the Rootswatch National Award 2023 held at the National Merit House, Abuja.
Olamilekan got the award based on several developmental projects he has executed which cut across several categories in his local council area, which the organisers of the award said they took time to scrutinise and found worthy of being awarded.
Speaking on the award, the council chairman said he wished to attend the occasion without any proxy but could not due to other official assignments in which he was entangled.
He appreciated Rootswatch Magazine for counting him worthy of the award among other local council chairmen in Nigeria.
Some of his projects that attracted the award include presentation of new security patrol vehicles to Nigeria Police, presentation of brand new 500KVA transformer to residents of Coker Aguda LCDA, organising free web design programme for the youths, reconstruction of Orile Iganmu Primary Health Centre, construction of Celestial Cottage Road, construction of Emokpaire Drainage and Road, reconstruction of Taiwo Williams Street, Aguda, and construction of Yisa Oroki Street.
Other projects done by the LCDA boss include construction of Soloki Road, construction of Ojuolape Street, construction of Falohun Street, construction of drainage at Ago-Egba, construction of culvert at Hassan Idowu, construction of culvert at Alice Tinubu Street, reconstruction of Community Road, construction of Brown Close Road, construction of culvert at Adefowope Street, reconstruction of culvert at Savage Street, construction of culvert at Karimu Street, rehabilitation and furnishing of supervisory councilors office, desilting of drainages on Rasaq Gbadamosi Street, Peace Estate, Arikewuyo Street, Alli-Olanipekun Street, Ogungbesan Street, Opeloyeru Street, Abu Street, yearly presentation of free JAMB and GCE forms to the less privileged in Coker Aguda LCDA, organising one-day sensitisation and breast cancer screening for women, palliative works on over 15 streets in bad condition, reconstruction of collapsed fence at L.A. Primary School, organising free summer coaching for primary and secondary school students, distribution of school bags to all the students during the Spelling Bee competition organised by Coker Aguda LCDA, and organising children party yearly for the students and wards.
The chairman of the Rootswatch Editorial Board, Prince Bayode Ojo reiterated that awards of recognition are meant to serve as an encouragement to the awardees for their hard work.
