The coach of Great Success FC, Christopher Ogar has described CY Unity Cup as the best grassroots football competition in Oshodi-Isolo and Lagos in general.
Ogah, whose team has been participating in the competition for over eight years, expressed seriousness with his smile when he said the competition is always devoid of controversies, saying it is well organised as he appraised the high standard the organiser of the competition, Cyprian Ukpai, has maintained.
The dark skinned coach urged participating players to see CY Unity Cup as an avenue to showcase their hidden talents, noting that many grassroots players have gone to the higher level through the competition.

“The CY Unity Cup has proved to be the best grassroots football competition in Oshodi-Isolo and Lagos as a whole. It has not been easy but the organisers of the competition led by the brilliant mind of Cyprian Ukpai have maintained the high standard of the competition devoid of controversies over the years.
“I am using this medium to urge participating players to see CY Unity Cup as an avenue to showcase their hidden talents because there are so many players who are exceptionally talented but the find it hard to get better place where they can display their talents.”
Ogar declared that the reason why the competition remains the best is the better understanding the organisers have of the game of football.
Ogar emphasised that the management of the competition has set a high standard in terms of organising football competitions at the grassroots which other football competitions organisers have not done.
“Matches are played at different venues which usually attract massive crowd, the officiating at the tournament is also top notch because you hardly see any participating team complain about bad officiating in the competition,” he stated.
He said he was optimistic that the competition would produce players for the national team in the nearest future.
The CY Unity Cup will commence once government lifts the ban on sport centers and give the go ahead that football activities should resume.
