Cholera: LWC Supplies Clean Water To Lagos Island

*LWC SUPPLIES SAFE, CLEAN WATER TO LAGOS ISLAND*

Following an increase in the reported cases of cholera in Lagos State, particularly Lagos Island, the Lagos Water Corporation has again swung into action by supplying potable water to the affected area of the State.

This included Oju Olobun community, Adeniji Adele, Lagos Island, as residents can be seen fetching safe and clean water supplied from LWC.

This immediate intervention by the corporation is aimed at minimise further spread of the deadly disease in the area by distributing safe and clean water to the area of the state.

The Lagos State Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi, in one of his statements, stated that Lagos Island has the highest number of suspected cholera cases in the state.

According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), cholera is an acute diarrhoeal infection caused by ingestion of food or water contaminated with the bacterium Vibrio cholerae.
