Community Development Committee (CDC) of Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government has pulled residents to collect Permanent Voter’s card (PVCs) during their two days sensitisation on PVC.
The CDC chairman, Pastor Samuel Opajobi stated that the exercise was to facilitate means of getting a large percentage of PVCs to the rightful owners to increase the number of votes in the LGA in the coming elections.
One of the residents in Alagbole area of ward F , Mr. Moses expressed a great relief to have collected his PVC through the help of the sensitisation.
He explained that the exercise has motivated a lot of people who are not willing to leave their homes for the PVC collection.
The community leaders took up the responsibility of telling resents the PVC distribution sites of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) across the seven wards for easy collection.
Part of the areas visited was the Mechanic Village site at Obawole and artisans were urged to go for their PVC collection to avoid disenfranchisement due to lack of voting card.
