The members of Dawudu Oyegoke, Olowokere, Rufia and Titilayo Streets under DOORT Community Development Association (CDA), Mafoluku Oshodi, have again appealed to Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company (IKEDC) to  install their newly procured transformer.

The transformer was donated  by the member of the Federal House of Representatives in Oshodi-Isolo Constituency 1, Dr. Bashiru Dawodu.

The transformer has been commissioned last year December by the donor while the community has equally provided the space for the transformer but the installation has been delayed as the community waits endlessly for approval from the company.

Complaining about the situation, the CDA Chairman, Mr. Femi Awoyemi, said despite their efforts, the distribution company has refused to give approval.

He said residents have also been pressurising  the CDA executive members to ensure that the transformer is installed and powered to light up the community.

Awoyemi disclosed that the Engineer handling the job promised to collect the approval letter from the head office of the company at Alausa since the Oshodi IkEDC Undertaking demanded the approval before allowing the transformer to be installed.

“The Engr. has assured the community that the process of getting the approval letter from the Alausa is ongoing and it will soon come out and as soon as it is completed he will give the CDA a copy to tender to Oshodi undertaking office so that the necessary things will be fixed to instal the transformer

“We have been waiting for the approval since last year and when we ask, they would tell us they were working on it. We are tire of the delay the community members are running out of patience,” he complained.

However, he appealed to the community members to be  more patient, saying the engineer handling the job assured them that the issue would soon be sorted out and they will start to enjoy uninterrupted power supply.
