Canoe Accident: LASG Sympathises With Yewa Community

Lagos State Government (LASG) has expressed its condolences and commitment to preventing future tragedies following a tragic canoe accident at Isawo Ikorodu.

Dr. Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje, Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Rural Development, visited the accident site in Isawo, Ikorodu West LCDA on October 29, 2023.

The incident, which occurred due to a plank bridge’s failure during rising water levels, led to a canoe capsizing.

Dr. Agbaje extended his sympathies to the affected families, and he assured the community that their concerns would be relayed to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

Dr. Agbaje stated, “Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families of the departed, and measures will be taken to prevent such tragedies in the future.”

The community appreciated the government’s prompt response and urged the prioritization of road construction and improvement for residents’ safety.
