Businessman On Trial For Allegely Producing Illicit Substance

A businessman identified as Oscar Agbeiboh is facing prosecution over accusations of producing harmful substance.
Agbeiboh, 27, was alleged to have produced 265 grams of Methamphetamin, as claimed by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA.
During a proceding at the Federal High Court in Lagos, the NDLEA stated that the defendant connived with one Eze Vitus who is yet to be apprehended to commit the offence on October 10 2014 at Ango Beach Estate in Amuwo-Odofin Lagos.
The anti-drug agency imposed a three-count charge against the suspect. Count One states: Agbeiboh and his accomplice, Eze Chinedu Vitus, are accused of conspiring to produce 265 grams of Methamphetamine, a narcotic substance classified alongside Cocaine, Heroin, and LSD. The offence contravenes Section 14(b) of the NDLEA Act, Cap N 30, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004.
Count Two: “The defendant is charged with unlawful production of 265 grams of Methamphetamine at his residence in Amuwo Odofin, Lagos, in violation of Section 11(a) of the NDLEA Act, Cap N 30, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004.
Count Three: “Agbeiboh is further accused of illegally dealing in the controlled substance, an offence punishable under Section 11(c) of the NDLEA Act, Cap N 30, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004.”
Agbeiboh pleaded not guilty
Defence counsel, Uche Okoronkwo, subsequently applied for bail. He urged the court to grant his client bail under conditions it deems appropriate.
The matter was adjourned till March 17.
