Building a World-Class University is Our Priority – LASUSTECH VC

The Vice Chancellor of Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH), Olumuyiwa Odusanya, has reiterated the commitment of the school management toward building a world-class institution.
He said this at a one-day orientation workshop for staff members of the institution, stating that the University will not compromise excellence.
According to him, excellence refers to the quality of being outstanding, saying committing to be a University that is outstanding and one of the best in the world remains their priority.
“To achieve being the best, we need to work hard to achieve an enviable position in the IVY League universities,” he said.
Also speaking at the workshop themed “Building An Excellent World-Class University”, the immediate Past Vice-Chancellor of Lagos State University, Prof. Lanre Fagbohun admonished that to be an excellent university, LASUSTECH must run a stable academic calendar, adding that the staff members must be diligent, maintain discipline and encourage resolvable disputation.
The Vice Chancellor, the University of Medical Sciences Ondo State, Prof. Segun Fatusi noted that to be the best, the university must encourage research, which is a mark that distinguishes any university.
Other factors for the attainment of an excellent world-class university discussed at the workshop include Mindset for an excellent university; Research and Grant-Manship; Staff-Student Relationship; Pathway to Internalization; Effective Financial Function; Modern Teaching and Examinations and Project Management Techniques.
