Prime Video’s ‘Breath of Life’ Sweeps Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards”

The 10th edition of the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA) concluded with Prime Video’s original production, “Breath of Life,” emerging as the big winner, clinching five awards.
The star-studded event, held on Saturday at the Eko Hotel in Lagos, celebrated the finest talents in African cinema, drawing actors, directors, and filmmakers from across the continent.
Despite fierce competition from top contenders like “Over the Bridge” and “Mami Wata,” “Breath of Life” stole the spotlight, securing victories in key categories.
Notably, the film scooped awards for Best Lead Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Director, and the coveted Best Movie title, solidifying its status as the most-awarded production of the year.
Among the standout moments of the evening was the Trailblazer Award presented to Chimezie Imo, recognizing his exceptional contribution to “Breath of Life,” despite not being nominated.
Additionally, industry veterans Idowu Phillips, popularly known as Iya Rainbow, and Richard Mode-Damijo, fondly referred to as RMD, received the esteemed Industry Merit Awards for their remarkable achievements in the film industry.
