BREAKING: Phyna’s Sister Ruth Otabor Dies Weeks After Dangote Truck Accident

The sister of Big Brother Naija Season 7 winner Phyna, Ruth Otabor, has passed away.
Her family announced her death on Sunday in a statement released by Eko Solicitors and Advocates, confirming that she died at about 6:30 a.m.
“With deep sorrow, the family regrets to announce the passing of their daughter, sister, and mother on August 31, 2025, at about 6:30 a.m.,” the statement read.
The family noted that they are in mourning and requested privacy during this period.
“The family is grieving and will appreciate being given a private moment to mourn the departed. Funeral arrangements will be communicated to the public in due course,” the statement added.
Ruth was involved in a tragic accident just weeks earlier. She had undergone a leg amputation after being hit by a truck belonging to Dangote Group near Auchi Polytechnic in Edo State on Wednesday, August 13, 2025. Eyewitnesses reported that the truck crushed her leg before it was eventually stopped by a bystander.
The accident happened only six days after Ruth graduated from Auchi Polytechnic. Her sudden death has left her family and fans heartbroken.
