Be Security Conscious, Isolo LCDA Boss Tells Market Leaders

The Chairman of Isolo Local Council Development Area LCDA, Olasoju Adebayo has urged Market leaders to be security conscious, pay their rate/levies and also maintain a clean environment.

The Chairman made this known when he hosted market men and women across the council area under the aegis of Association of Commodity Market Men and Women Association, Isolo LCDA Chapter in the first-ever Market Day Celebrations.

He congratulated the Iyaloja General of Isolo, Mrs. Eunice Oluranti Dosumu for yet another accomplishment. He reassured the audience that the day’s  activities were merely a means of  recognizing the crucial significance open commodities market traders perform in propelling the state’s economy and  guaranteed that the occasion would be  included in the council’s annual  schedule.
The head of the council, however, tasked the association’s leaders in the several markets to guarantee that security,  hygiene, and the timely payment of  levies and rates by their members  improve.
The event, hosted on council premises and hosted by renowned TV host and  compere Mr. Afonja Shola, drew an  unprecedented number of vendors from the council area’s 13 approved markets.

Delivering her welcome address, Iyaloja General expressed her joy for having the maiden edition held in her lifetime as she hailed the council boss for the initiative. The nonagenarian re-echoed her admonition against unlawfulness to the respective market leaders.

On his part, the royal father of the day, Alayeluwa Oba Kabiru Alani Adelaja Agbabiaka, Ilufemiloye, Aina Gbeto, Adeola Olushi III marveled at the large turnout urging the council chairman to make the best of the shown acceptance as the monarch went down memory lane to discuss the evolution of markets in Isolo spanning about two centuries. Osolo called on the council boss to consider reviewing the agreement with private developers handling markets in instances where such agreements are being breached or under-executed.

Highpoint of the event was the coordinated serial march past the 13 subsisting markets in the council area amidst pomp and enthusiasm by their contingents.

On live bandstand was popular female gospel musician, Aduke Gold who treated the assembly of traders, guests and bystanders to irresistible and melodic songs.
