By Sunday Ogundiran
The Creative Director of Jairus and Jakes Photography Studio in the Adebayo Osho area of Ejigbo, Mr. Odukunle Olawale has described the ban on social gatherings as a disaster to the photography business.
He noted that the creative business is one of the professions greatly affected by the restriction of social events ordered by the government as a measure to curtail community spread of coronavirus.
He complained that since the lockdown order, they could no more cover social events such as wedding and other forms of outdoor party from which they made their incomes, saying only few of them are left to survive on pre birthday shoots, modeling shoots and the like.
The job which encompasses video production, photography, event coverage, CD/DVD reproduction, video editing and visual effects majorly thrives when there are social events and mass gatherings.
He said: “As social events remain the foundation of our business, the restriction couldn’t allow us make sales since it affects all events centers as well as recreation centres where families and friends hangout on weekends and festival periods.”
