A business cum social entrepreneur, Mrs. Yemisi Bamishile, has launched a Foundation for the development of women folk in Nigeria.
The non-profit organisation, christened Tamar Women Skills Development Foundation (TW SDF), is established to empower women for business and family.
Speaking during the launching which coincided with her birthday at Magodo GRA, Lagos on Wednesday, the Founder, Yemisi Bamishile said she was moved to establish the Foundation to move as many women as possible out of poverty by equipping them with the requisite skills to be relevant in the society.
Bamishile, the CEO of Abbacos Learning Solutions a management consultancy firm in Lagos, said the women must be equipped first with the required skills to work on their own to contribute to the development of the family and the society as a whole.
“This Foundation will serve as an avenue for me to empower the women as the builders of the nation. The Foundation is committed to training the women on various handiworks which they can do with their hands. After the training, we will monitor their progress and support them with loans and or grants. We are already partnering with some organisations especially financial organisations that could support our members.
“We will leverage the various technology devices to reach our participants including the social media.
“The Foundation is also aiming at having a Women Centre in Lagos where we can accommodate the thousands of women who come to Lagos daily, accommodate them and train them for six months before releasing them to the society to work rather than being idle and become a burden to the government and the society.
She, therefore, admonished women in the society to b part of rh Foundation while urging the government, individuals, and other orgnisations to support the Foundation to achieve its objectives.
