Bamigboye empowers 200 youths with various skills

Over 200 youths have been equipped with trainings in various skills under the Youth Empowerment scheme of the Chairman of Mushin Local Government, Hon. Emmanuel Bamigboye.

The skills which included Catering, Cosmetology, Makeup and Soap Making were acquired in a three-week training organised by the department of Youth, Sports and Agriculture, of the Local Government, in partnership with Lagos State Ministry of Youth and Social Development.

Bamigboye reinstated that his administration will not relent in its efforts to accord priority to youth empowerment and wealth creation.

He stated that the skills acquired by the youths will enable them to be self reliant and useful for themselves and the society.

The council boss said that he is optimistic that when youths are empowered, they would become active contributors and collaborators towards exploring their impacts on the world around them.

He, however, implored all the beneficiaries to show appreciation by exhibiting high sense of responsibility, competitive skills and portray themselves as good ambassadors of Mushin Local Government.

Bamigboye presented certificates to the beneficiaries of the training programme and appealed to them to support continuity in governance in Lagos State by voting all the candidates of APC in the 2023 general elections.

Representative of the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Social Development, Mr. Lukmon Ahmed, commended the Executive Chairman for the laudable programme.

Mrs. Taiwo Olaniyan of the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund explained that the beneficiaries can access loans to establish their businesses, explaining various categories of loans, ranging from 250,000 to 5,000,000 for Small and Medium Scale Enterprises.

One of the beneficiaries of the programme, Ojuolape Ariori, who spoke on behalf of her colleagues, expressed appreciation to the chairman for the opportunity given to them to venture into various lines of business through the skills acquisition programme. She also prayed for the success of the chairman and his team in their administration.
