Obe Supports Foundation
ECHONEWS
In a bid to support medical students who desire to venture into research to get a potent and permanent solution in chemotherapy, the former Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Kehinde Bamigbetan has launched a Foundation in memory of his late wife, Mrs. Fatima Bamigbetan – Fatima Bamigbetan Memorial Chemotherapy Research Grant Foundation.
While launching the Foundation at a posthumous birthday organised for the late wife, the chairman of Ejigbo LCDA, Alhaji Monsurudeen Bello (Obe) donated money in support of the Foundation, saying the deceased deserved the honour.
He said it was expedient in the circumstance to return all glory to God regardless, that the late wife of his boss cum predecessor lived up to the task.
“The only way she can be rewarded for her good deeds is this initiative that has come to bear and must be supported.
“Let’s support the Foundation to immortalise her and elevate mankind.”
The posthumous birthday ceremony cum launching of the Foundation was held on Friday, May 19, 2023, which has been set aside to commemorate and immortalise the late wife.
The programme was in two phases: The morning segment which was strictly academic, and the evening section which took place at the residence of the widower, 23, Ona-Iwa Mimo Street, Ori-Oke, Ejigbo Lagos.
Speaking, Bamigbetan, who recalled the fond memories of his late wife, said: “Memories about FATTY (my wife) still linger at heart and can never be replaced, such that I could not but always think out ways to Immortalize her.”
Friends who graced the occasion testified to her subtle intervention in pacifying disputes, not only among friends and families, but also between her husband and his (KOK) counterparts, both at work and the political terrain.
This gesture by Fatty as she was fondly called in times of discords has induced some to withdraw their malevolence and embrace peace.
