Aseyori Queens emerges champions of Hon Tajudeen Ajide WAFA pre-season championship

It was female football at it’s best as the team from Owode Iyewa, Ogun state, Aseyori Queens emerge the champions of the 3rd edition of Hon Tajudeen Ajide WAFA pre-season championship by beating SGH Sport Academy 5-4 in penalty shootout after the match ended 1-1 at regulation time.

Lagos based female team side, FC Phoenix Queens came 3rd in the championship by defeating BFA English Queens 1-0 to take the consolation position of the championship.

Both the final and the 3rd place match took place at N.U.D primary school field Owode Egba, Abeokuta Ogun State.

The ceremonial kick-off was done by the sponsor of the championship, Hon Tajudeen Ajide, supported by Oba Olu of Owode Egba, Austin Popo, former secretary general of players union and other dignitaries.

The new WAFA logo was also unveiled at the event to the admiration of dignitaries and spectators.

At the unveiling of the new WAFA logo, Hon Tajudeen Ajide noted that he would continue to support female football.
