The chairman of Ojodu Local Council Development Area LCDA chairman, Hon. David Odunmbaku has said that LCDAs are created to complement the Local Governments.
While enlightening the residents on how to address various issues affecting the community vis a vis the role of local government, Odunmbaku said LCDAs wee smaller administrative divisions within LGA created by state government to take governance down to various communities.
He expanded that LCDAs are responsible for providing more localised and specialised services to the people living within their jurisdiction, and also address specific needs of an area that is not being met by the LG.
Meanwhile, the council boss reiterated his commitment to his HEYS  (Health, Education, Youth Empowerment, and Social Infrastructure) agenda as the focal points of his administration.
He noted that his mission is in tandem with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s THEMES agenda and the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
He pledged that the council would continue to improve the overall health and wellbeing of the citizens by upgrading and equipping all Primary Health Care Centres within the LCDA.
According to him, there will be improvement with the provision adequate personnel and medical equipment for quality service delivery.
He boasted that his administration has been committed to provision of quality education and opportunities for students to pursue higher education, through the distribution of free JAMB and GCE forms to indigent students in the council area.
He highlighted the council’s plan to rehabilitate more roads to aid good transportation and commuting within the community.
“Presently, we have about 85 untarred roads within the LCDA. However, with the meager resources at our disposal, we are assiduously working to ensure that at least six roads are constructed in each of the wards of Ojodu LCDA. This would have a significant impact on movements within the LCDA.”
