Aruwe Flags Off Reconstruction of Akodu Primary School, Reaffirms Commitment to Quality Education in Mushin

In a determined effort to uplift educational infrastructure within Mushin Local Government, the Executive Chairman, Hon. Tunbosun Haruna Aruwe, on Monday, October 6, 2025, laid the foundation stone for the reconstruction of Akodu Primary School, marking a major stride in his administration’s commitment to revitalizing public schools.

The foundation-laying ceremony, held at the school premises, drew a large turnout of community stakeholders, education officials, and residents, all eager to witness another landmark project under Aruwe’s leadership.

Hon. Aruwe, who was accompanied by his Vice Chairman, Hon. Semiu Karaole, Leader of the Legislative Arm, Hon. Abioye Oladele, Ward Councillors, and the Council Engineer, Engr. Olaseni Hamid, underscored the administration’s dedication to making education a central pillar of development in Mushin.

Speaking at the event, the Chairman noted that the reconstruction project was deliberately prioritized to combat illiteracy and rekindle hope for future generations.

“The reconstruction of Akodu Primary School was strategically selected to fight illiteracy and restore hope to our future generations. He who opens a school, closes a prison yard,” Aruwe stated.

He further reiterated that education remains the bedrock of every progressive society.

“Education is the backbone and future of every thriving society. It represents the assurance of a brighter tomorrow and a means of empowering the Mushin future yet unborn,” he added.

Residents and community leaders present at the ceremony lauded the initiative, describing it as timely and visionary. They commended Hon. Aruwe for his proactive leadership, noting that the reconstruction will enhance learning standards, boost morale among pupils and teachers, and foster community development.

With this latest initiative, Hon. Tunbosun Aruwe continues to set the tone for impactful governance in Mushin, reinforcing his administration’s resolve to build a more prosperous and educated local government.
