In a statement he personally signed, Ariyoh said: “I join the rest of the world to celebrate our resilient youths across the world on this special day set aside by the United Nations.
“The theme for year 2020, ‘Youth Engagement for Global Action’ seeks to highlight the ways in which the engagement of young people at local, national and global levels is enriching national and multilateral institutions and processes as well as drawing lessons on how their representation and engagement in formal institutions and politics can be significantly enhanced.
“The recent pandemic, COVID-19 has further buttressed the fact that youths are the bedrock of any nation. Their resilience in ensuring the world overcome this dreaded monster cannot be over emphasised.
“As we celebrate the International Youth Day, it is imperative to acknowledge the amazing contributions young people are making to the improvement of our world.
