Technology has made more complex things look easier for humans with the help of smart phone.

Before now, to measure the number of calories you burn, you had to stand on a vibrating machine commonly used in gym houses to detect how many calories you have burnt while jogging.

However, there are new apps which could be downloaded from the playstore on smart phone to measure the number of steps and amount of calories burn while jogging. The apps include:

Google fit app

The Google fit app is designed to track any activity like running, cycling and walking. It also allows you to set up goals like walking ten thousand steps per day and you can monitor your progress not just on your phone but also on the web via Google’s fit portal.

Runkeeper app

Before using this app, you have to create an account for better usage. It is one of the oldest apps in the phone powered fitness game. The app was built with runners in mind but it also tracks walkers. Runkeeper app helps you to set and achieve goals.

Walk with map my walk app

This is a crowd sourced collection of mapped routes. It is greatly used when traveling in new areas as you quickly find a trail that is a particular distance.

Myfitnesspal app

This is often considered as one of the best calorie counting apps but not many people know that. It also has a step tracking feature. The app can also be used to track your daily food intake and your daily calorie bank will adjust appropriately depending on how many steps you take.

Stepapp

This app is more recommended for people on wheelchair. For as long as they have an Apple watch on them, it will conveniently show how many steps taken.
