Residents of Apena Ward of Isolo local council Development Area have shown their appreciation to the council leader, Hon. Remy Shittu Remy for distributing food items to them to cushion the effect of the lockdown order on them.

According to them, the gesture was the right thing expected from any capable person at the time majority of the residents could not fend for themselves.

Remy said the second phase of the distribution of the relief packages which contained rice, garri, beans, eggs and other consumables took place in the community in order to make the foods go round.

According to the councilor representing the Ward, the indigent residents were targeted as hundreds of them benefited from the foods.

He said: The gesture is my own little way of helping cushion the effect of the lockdown which has kept people indoor since last week.”

He informed that the gesture was to complement the efforts of the council Chairman, Hon. Shamsudeen Olaleye, geared towards curtailing the spread of the pandemic in Isolo LCDA.

He therefore implored the residents across the council area to sustain their compliance with the lockdown directive, reiterating that the council authority has plans to do more as regards stimulus package distribution to residents across the seven wards in the council area.
