The All Progressive Congress (APC) appointed Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu as the chairman of National Campaign Council for the Ondo State governorship election.
In the same event, the Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris and the Governor of Cross River State, Bassey Out would be the Deputy Chairmen while Senator Ovie Omo-Agege will serve as the secretary of the Council.
The National Chairman of APC, Abdulai Ganduje, while addressing the members of the party at the International Culture and Event Center (Dome) in Akure, urged them to always obey the law and be cooperative at all times.
According to him, the newly elected representatives of the party were carefully selected based on their impeccable record of hardwork, integrity and commitment to the party’s cause.
The Chairman said “The council is headed by a man who has done it before, in this kind of situation. This campaign council will swing into action immediately. Already, there is a local campaign council working in the state already. The national campaign will build a strong synergy with the local campaign council, which will lead to victory in the forthcoming election. We have to maintain state.”
He further stated that “This zone will be homogenous in terms of party followership. It is a task that must be done through Democratic means. The election will be free and fair, smooth and victorious for our great party.
“We appreciate all the reforms the governor has introduce, we want him to continue. He’s providing a progressive leadership. We are here to assure you that this development will continue when he’s elected.”
Sanwo-Olu in his speech to the members of the party gave them assurance that the council would do everything professionally and by the constitution to make sure the election is a free and fair one.
