Ansar-Ud-Deen, Oshodi marks 35th Anniversar, decries insecurity across nation

Ansar- Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria, Oshodi branch has appealed to government profer lasting solution to insecurity issue in the country as it marked 35th Anniversary.

According to the branch chairman, Alhaji Moshood Akintunde, the economy hardship has continue to beget social vices such as banditry, kidnapping, killing, robbery and others.

He implored representatives at all levels of government to do the needful such as creation of job opportunities and empowerment of youths to prevent them from involving in the social vices.

To address youth unrest in the community, Akintunde explained that the association embarked on catching them young, nurture them into adulthood in Islamic studies to avert waywardness.

He advised Muslim brothers and sisters to love one another, pray constantly, give arms to the needy according to Islamic teachings to hold fast the cord of Allah and never to be disunited (Q3: 103).

He stated the achievements of the association to include molding religious members and involving in other social services towards the development of the community.

Other achievements, according to him, are rotational lectures and prayers at members’ residences which contributed immensely to the rise of membership of the branch over the years.

He also mentioned that voluntary services of alms giving to the poor, homeless and the needy by the women committee headed by Alhaja Moriamo Olarenwaju made notable significance in the branch.

“As part of contribution to the community, provision of free water was made available for community members and active involvement in the community security.

“Ansar-ud-Deen Youth Association of Nigeria ( ADYAN) wing continued in recruiting and breeding of future leaders in the society through Mojeed Murtala the leader,” he said.

He called for the support of the government in terms of school development such as provision of laboratory, Library, scholarship to the less privileged and other equipment needed in the school.
