Speaking during a courtesy event held in his honour, President of All-Stars International Lagos, Mr. Mojeed Adegbindin, praised the retiring Customs chief for his long-standing passion for football and his unique contribution to the sporting fraternity.

“He’s actually been a noble member of ours, a noble member of so many other All-Stars. But generally, he’s a man that loves peace, loves football and the whole football fraternity. And at any point in time, he has an opportunity, he comes out to play the ball himself.”

Adegbindin noted that DCG Jibo was not just a supporter of the sport but an active participant who often joined exhibition matches despite the demands of his public service career.

“Not just that he likes the ball, he knows how to play the ball. And throughout his service, he has never shied away from any football competition or exhibition as the case may be. He is actually a very valuable member to football in the entire country.”

DCG Jibo, known for his discipline, calm leadership and community engagement, served the Nigeria Customs Service for decades before reaching mandatory retirement. His involvement in football circles earned him recognition as a bridge-builder who used sports to strengthen teamwork and foster peace.

As he bows out of active service, many within the football community say his presence will be missed, but his legacy of sportsmanship and public service will remain a reference point for years to come.
