Alimosho LG: Jelili Receives Lagos GAC

The Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC) of Lagos State, led by former Deputy Governor H.E. Otunba Femi Pedro, visited Alimosho Local Government on October 22, 2024, to evaluate the leadership of Mr. Jelili Sulaimon. In his address, Mr. Sulaimon highlighted numerous achievements since assuming office in 2017 and expressed gratitude to the Alimosho community for their support.

Notable accomplishments during Mr. Sulaimon’s tenure include improved infrastructure, enhanced social services, and the promotion of economic opportunities within the local government area. These advancements have contributed to a better quality of life for residents and strengthened the overall development of Alimosho.

The Lagos State Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC) demonstrated its commitment to ensuring accountable governance and party affairs by conducting an oversight visit to Alimosho Local Government. This function included meetings with the council chairman, executives, and management, followed by a town hall meeting with party stakeholders, ensuring all voices were heard regardless of intra-party affiliations.

Oversight functions, such as this visit, allow the GAC to assess local government activities and examine developmental projects, guaranteeing that they align with the interests of the community. Committee chairman H.E. Otunba Femi Pedro emphasized the importance of these visits in providing the necessary checks and balances to local governance, ensuring public resources are utilized effectively for the benefit of the masses.

The GAC committee chairman, H.E. Otunba Femi Pedro, expressed satisfaction with the progress observed during the inspection of facilities, commending the leadership of Alimosho Local Government, including the executive chairman, executives, and management. He encouraged them to continue striving for improvement and emphasized the importance of maintaining unity within the All Progressives Congress.

Mrs. Jumoke OKOYA THOMAS, a member of the GAC committee, was also present during the visit, showing the council’s commitment to involving various party stakeholders in overseeing local governance and fostering collaboration. As the GAC continues its efforts to support and evaluate local government initiatives, it aims to promote development and maintain transparency across Lagos State.
